Rancho La Puerta Website Re-Design

I’ve been thrilled and honored to work with Rancho La Puerta, a destination spa that has been named multiple times as “The Best Destination Spa in the World” by Travel + Leisure Magazine’s readers.

I was asked to redesign their website with the creative goal of better capturing the “Ranch” experience.

The new site was developed in WordPress to give the client complete access to content management and to hit several marketing directives, including: increase bookings from the website, raise the client’s exposure to potential visitors, showcase the natural beauty of the Ranch and educate the public on the organization and its philosophy.

The original site had more than 500 pages in content – overwhelming! The new website is more concise (200 pages) by grouping like information under tabs and expanding accordions, keeping the browsing experience focused. It features a new information architecture that organizes the information in a user-intuitive manner, making it easy for online users to quickly find what they are looking for and compare information. Other key features of the new site include: search feature, searchable calendar, interactive map, password-protected media gallery, “call to action” videos and promos, social media integration and reservation forms.

The site uses photography throughout, incorporating images with content wherever possible, helping guide the online user visually wherever possible.

Part of the objective of the new site was to be informational as well as to showcase the uniqueness and beauty of the Ranch and what it has to offer. The goal is for online users to walk away from visiting the website with a stronger connection with the Ranch experience and brand, whether they are new or returning guests.
